Dear Lord, as we come to you today seeking baptism and forgiveness, we ask for your guidance and wisdom. Help us to recognize the sin in our lives and to turn away from it. We acknowledge that we are like the offspring of vipers, in need of your mercy and grace. Thank you for warning us of the wrath to come and for providing a way of escape through your son, Jesus Christ. May we be filled with your Holy Spirit and empowered to live a life that honors you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
