Dear Lord, please help us to recognize and avoid the ways of the serpent and the offspring of vipers. May we not be led astray by their deceitful ways and instead seek your truth and righteousness. We pray for your mercy and grace to escape the judgment of Gehenna and to be saved by your love and forgiveness. Amen.
Verse: You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna?
Matthew 23:33
This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke and warning to the Pharisees and scribes, calling them “serpents” and “offspring of vipers” and asking how they will escape judgment. The command is to repent and turn away from their wicked ways.
