Prayer based on Matthew 23:27. Themes: hypocrisy, appearance vs reality, judgment
Dear God, please help me to avoid being like the scribes and Pharisees who were hypocrites. May I not be like a whitened tomb that appears beautiful on the outside but is full of dead men’s bones and uncleanness on the inside. Please help me to be genuine and authentic in my faith, and to always strive for purity and righteousness in my heart. Amen.
Verse: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness.
This is a Command: Woe. The verse is a warning or rebuke to the scribes and Pharisees.
