Prayer based on Acts 7:43. Themes: idolatry, punishment, exile
Dear Lord,
We confess that we have taken up idols and false gods in our lives. We have worshipped things that are not of you and have strayed from your path. We ask for your forgiveness and mercy.
Help us to turn away from these idols and to focus our hearts and minds on you. May we seek your will and your ways above all else.
We pray that you would carry us away from the Babylon of our sin and into the freedom of your grace. May we be transformed by your love and become more like you each day.
Thank you for your faithfulness and your unfailing love. We trust in you and give you all the glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship, so I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’
Acts 7:43
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not worship false gods or idols, or else they will be punished and carried away.
