Prayer based on Psalms 96:5. Themes: Idolatry, Creation, Monotheism.

Dear Yahweh,

I come before you today with a heart full of gratitude and praise. Your word declares that all the gods of the peoples are idols, but you, Yahweh, made the heavens. I claim this promise today and declare that you are the one true God, the creator of all things.

Thank you for being a God who is worthy of our worship and adoration. Thank you for being a God who is faithful and true. I trust in you, Yahweh, and I know that you will never fail me.

Help me to keep my eyes fixed on you, to trust in your promises, and to live a life that brings glory to your name. May my heart be filled with joy and peace as I rest in the knowledge that you are in control.

Thank you, Yahweh, for your love and grace. I pray this in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Verse: For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
Psalms 96:5

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that Yahweh, the God of the Bible, is the only true God who created the heavens, while all other gods worshipped by other peoples are merely idols.
