Dear Lord, like Paul, I pray for the courage to stand up for what is right and just. Help me to speak out against injustice and to defend those who are being mistreated. Give me the wisdom to know when to speak and the words to say. May I never be afraid to stand up for the truth, even in the face of persecution. Amen.

Verse: When they had tied him up with thongs, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”
