Praying from Romans 7:7. Themes: Law, Sin, Knowledge of Sin

Dear Lord, as I reflect on the question, “What shall we say then? Is the law sin?” I am reminded that the law is not sin, but rather a guide to help me understand what is right and wrong. I thank you for giving us the law, for without it, I would not have known sin. I pray that you would help me to follow your commandments and to live a life that is pleasing to you. May I always remember that the law is not a burden, but a gift that helps me to grow in my faith and relationship with you. Thank you for your love and grace, and for the guidance that you provide through your word. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
Romans 7:7

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not consider the law as sin and acknowledges that the law helps in identifying sin.
