Praying from Matthew 6:5 relating to Hypocrisy, Prayer, Reward.
Dear God, as I come to you in prayer, I ask that you help me to not be like the hypocrites who pray to be seen by others. May my prayers be genuine and sincere, and may they come from a place of humility and gratitude. I know that seeking recognition from others is not what prayer is about, and I pray that you help me to remember this always. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.
Verse: “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
Matthew 6:5
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to pray like the hypocrites who do it for show, as they have already received their reward.
