Prayer based on John 16:2. Themes: Persecution, Martyrdom, Service to God.

Dear Lord, I claim the promise that you have given us in John 16:2, that even if we are put out of the synagogues and persecuted for our faith, we can take comfort in knowing that those who harm us will think they are offering service to God. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith and trust in you, even in the face of persecution. May we never lose sight of the eternal reward that awaits us, and may we always be willing to stand up for what is right, no matter the cost. Thank you for your promise of protection and guidance, and for the strength to endure whatever trials may come our way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
John 16:2

This is a Promise. The verse is a warning that persecution will come to believers, and that even those who persecute them will believe they are doing God’s will.
