Prayer based on Matthew 26:55. Themes: Justice, Betrayal, Teaching
Dear Lord, in the hour of your betrayal, you questioned the actions of those who came to seize you with swords and clubs. You reminded them that you had been teaching daily in the temple and they had not arrested you. Help us to remember that you are always with us, guiding us and teaching us. May we never turn against you or treat you as a robber. Instead, may we always seek your wisdom and guidance, and follow your teachings with love and devotion. Amen.
Verse: In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes,“Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
Matthew 26:55
This is a Command. The command is for the multitudes to reflect on their actions and consider why they are trying to seize Jesus with swords and clubs, despite him teaching daily in the temple without being arrested.
