Prayer based on Matthew 26:56. Themes: Fulfillment, Prophecy, Abandonment.
As I read the words, “But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled,” I am reminded of Your faithfulness to fulfill every promise You have made. Even in the midst of chaos and confusion, You are working all things together for our good and Your glory.
I claim the promise that You will fulfill every word spoken by Your prophets. I trust that You are in control and that Your plans for my life are good and perfect. Help me to trust You even when things seem uncertain and to hold fast to Your promises.
Thank You for the example of the disciples who, though they fled in fear, ultimately returned to follow You. May I have the same courage and faith to follow You wherever You lead, knowing that You are with me always.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
This is a Promise. The verse is stating that the events that occurred were to fulfill the prophecies of the prophets. There is no command given to the reader.
