Prayer based on Matthew 26:39. Themes: Surrender, Obedience, Will of God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the example of your son, Jesus Christ, who went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed to you. He asked that if it was possible, let the cup pass away from him, but ultimately surrendered to your will.

Lord, I claim the promise that you will always be with me, even in the midst of trials and tribulations. Help me to trust in your plan for my life, even when it may be difficult or painful. Give me the strength to surrender my desires to you and to seek your will above all else.

Thank you for your love and faithfulness, and for the example of Jesus Christ. May I follow in his footsteps and trust in your promises always.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying,“My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
Matthew 26:39

This is a Promise. The verse shows Jesus praying to God and expressing his willingness to follow God’s plan, even if it means suffering. There is no direct command given to the reader.
