Prayer based on Matthew 26:42. Themes: Surrender, Obedience, Will of God.

Father, I come to you today claiming the promise that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Just as Jesus went away and prayed to you a second time, I too come to you with my burdens and fears. I ask that you give me the strength to face the challenges ahead, and the courage to trust in your plan for my life. Help me to surrender my will to yours, just as Jesus did when he said, “Your desire be done.” Thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying,“My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
Matthew 26:42

This is a Promise. The verse is Jesus’ prayer to God, expressing his willingness to fulfill God’s desire even if it means drinking from the cup of suffering.
