Praying from Matthew 20:18. Themes: Sacrifice, Redemption, Betrayal.

Dear Lord,

As I lift up my eyes to you, I declare that I am going up to Jerusalem with you. I claim the promise that you have given me, that the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death.

I thank you for the sacrifice that you made for me on the cross, and I declare that I am saved by your grace. I pray that you will help me to live a life that is pleasing to you, and that I will always remember the sacrifice that you made for me.

I declare that I am a child of God, and that I am saved by your grace. I pray that you will continue to guide me and lead me on the path of righteousness.

Thank you for your love and your mercy, and for the promise that you have given me. I declare that I am going up to Jerusalem with you, and that I will follow you all the days of my life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement of what will happen to Jesus, rather than a command or instruction to the reader.
