Prayer based on Mark 10:39. Themes: Suffering, Baptism, Unity.

Dear Lord Jesus, I come before you today with a heart full of faith and trust in your promises. Just as your disciples said to you, “We are able,” I too declare that I am able to follow you and drink from the cup that you drank and be baptized with the baptism that you were baptized with.

I claim your promise that I shall indeed drink the cup that you drank and be baptized with the baptism that you were baptized with. I know that this journey may not be easy, but I trust in your strength and guidance to lead me through it.

Thank you for your love and sacrifice on the cross, and for the promise of eternal life that you have given to all who believe in you. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to you and to always follow in your footsteps.

In your precious name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Promise. Jesus promises that the disciples will experience the same suffering and baptism as he will.
