Dear Lord, we acknowledge that our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. We pray that you would help us to learn from their mistakes and not repeat them. May we seek your guidance and follow your will, so that we may live a life that is pleasing to you. Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for the gift of eternal life through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

This is a Command. The verse is a warning to the reader that if they follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and disobey God, they too will face consequences.
