Dear God, I thank you for the promise that your light shines in the darkness and that the darkness cannot overcome it. I claim this promise over my life and the lives of those around me. May your light shine brightly in every dark situation we face, bringing hope, peace, and joy. Help us to trust in your power and presence, knowing that you are always with us and that your light will never be extinguished. Thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is assuring the reader that no matter how dark the world may seem, the light of God will always shine and prevail.
