Praying from James 5:17 relating to Prayer, Miracles, Faithfulness.
Father God, I come before you today claiming the promise that Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. Just as he prayed earnestly and it did not rain for three years and six months, I pray that you will hear my earnest prayers and answer them according to your will. Help me to trust in your power and sovereignty, knowing that you are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the promise that you will never leave us or forsake us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that Elijah, a man with a nature like ours, prayed earnestly and as a result, it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. It is not giving a command to the reader.
