Prayer based on Acts 4:21. Themes: God’s sovereignty, persecution, praise and worship.
Father God, I thank you for the promise that when we stand firm in our faith, even in the face of threats and persecution, you will protect us and make a way for us. Just as you did for the apostles when they were threatened and let go because of the people glorifying you for what was done, I claim this promise for myself and for all believers. Help us to trust in you and stand firm in our faith, knowing that you are with us always. May our lives bring glory to your name, and may others come to know you through our testimony. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.
Acts 4:21
This is a Promise. The verse describes how the people glorified God for what had happened to the apostles, despite the threats of punishment from the authorities. There is no command given to the reader.
