Praying from Titus 1:7 relating to Blamelessness, Stewardship, Self-control
Dear God, I pray that those who are called to be overseers in your church may be blameless, just as you are blameless. Help them to be good stewards of your word and your people, always seeking to please you and not themselves. May they not be easily angered or given to excess, but instead be filled with your peace and self-control. Keep them from violence and greed, and help them to always pursue honesty and integrity in all that they do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
Titus 1:7
This is a Command. The verse is commanding overseers to be blameless, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, and not greedy for dishonest gain.
