Dear Lord, I thank you for the promise that a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I declare that I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. I pray that you would help me to prioritize spending time in your presence above all else. May I always seek to be in your courts and find joy and peace in your presence. Thank you for the privilege of being able to come before you and worship you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This is a Promise. The verse expresses the idea that spending even one day in the presence of God is better than a thousand days elsewhere, and that being a humble servant in God’s house is preferable to living among the wicked.
