Praying from Psalms 22:1. Themes: Abandonment, Suffering, Trust
of God’s presence and help:
Dear God, I come to you with a heavy heart, feeling abandoned and alone. But I know that you have promised to never leave me nor forsake me. So I claim that promise now, and ask for your presence to surround me. Help me to feel your love and comfort in the midst of my pain. I trust that you are near, and that you hear the words of my groaning. Thank you for being my refuge and strength, even in the darkest of times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Verse: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
Psalms 22:1
This is a Promise. The verse is a cry of despair from the psalmist, but it ultimately points to the promise of God’s faithfulness and deliverance.
