Prayer based on Matthew 21:13. Themes: Worship, Justice, Holiness.
Dear Lord,
We come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. We acknowledge that your house is a house of prayer, a place where we can come to worship you and seek your presence.
But we also recognize that we have not always treated your house with the respect and reverence it deserves. We have allowed it to become a den of robbers, a place where greed and selfishness have taken root.
Forgive us, Lord, for our sins and shortcomings. Help us to turn away from our selfish ways and to honor your house as a place of prayer and worship.
May your Holy Spirit fill this place with your presence, and may we always remember that it is your house, not ours. May we come before you with hearts full of gratitude and praise, and may your name be glorified in all that we do.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
Verse: He said to them,βIt is written, β My house shall be called a house of prayer,β but you have made it a den of robbers!β
Matthew 21:13
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to make their house a house of prayer and not a den of robbers.
