Prayer based on Matthew 21:12. Themes: Righteous anger, Holiness, Worship

Dear Lord Jesus,

As I read about how you entered the temple of God and drove out those who were selling and buying, I am reminded of your righteous anger towards those who were using your Father’s house for their own gain.

I pray that you would help me to have the same zeal for your Father’s house and for your kingdom. Help me to recognize and resist any temptation to use your church or your people for my own benefit.

May I always remember that your house is a house of prayer, and that it is a sacred place where we come to worship you and to seek your face.

Thank you for your example of righteous anger and for your love for your Father’s house. May I follow in your footsteps and honor you in all that I do.

In your holy name I pray,

Amen.
