Praying from Luke 19:46. Themes: Worship, Justice, Holiness.

Dear Lord,

We come before you humbly, recognizing that your house is a house of prayer. We acknowledge that we have often fallen short of this truth, and have turned your holy dwelling into a den of robbers.

Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have allowed greed, selfishness, and sin to take root in our hearts and in your house. Help us to turn away from these things and to seek you with all our hearts.

May your house be a place of worship, of reverence, and of prayer. May it be a sanctuary where we can come to meet with you, to seek your face, and to be transformed by your love.

We pray that your presence would fill this place, and that your Spirit would move in power among us. May we be a people who honor you with our lives, and who bring glory to your name.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.

Verse: saying to them,“It is written, ‘ My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘ den of robbers’!”
Luke 19:46

This is a Command. The verse commands the readers to make their house a house of prayer and not a den of robbers.
