Praying from Matthew 12:36. Themes: judgment, accountability, speech

Dear Lord, please help me to be mindful of every word that I speak. May I not speak idle words that do not bring glory to your name. Help me to use my words to encourage, uplift, and inspire those around me. And when the day of judgment comes, may I be found faithful in the way I have used my words. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Matthew 12:36

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to be mindful of their words as they will be held accountable for them on the day of judgment.
