Praying from Matthew 20:6. Themes: Work, Grace, Opportunity

Dear Lord,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the parable of the workers in the vineyard. I pray that you would help me to be diligent in my work and not to waste any opportunities that you have given me.

Just as the landowner went out and found others standing idle at the eleventh hour, I pray that you would help me to be aware of those around me who may be in need of work or encouragement.

Lord, I ask that you would give me a heart of compassion and a willingness to serve others, even if it means going out of my way or sacrificing my own comfort.

Thank you for the many blessings you have given me, and I pray that I would use them to glorify you and to bless others.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: About the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle. He said to them, ‘ Why do you stand here all day idle?’
Matthew 20:6

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not be idle and to work diligently.
