Dear Lord, please help me to never reject your commandments in order to uphold my own traditions. May I always seek to follow your will and ways above all else. Give me the strength and wisdom to discern between what is truly important and what is simply a human tradition. Help me to honor you in all that I do and to live a life that is pleasing to you. Amen.

This is a Command. The verse is a rebuke from Jesus to the Pharisees for prioritizing their traditions over God’s commandments. There is no promise in this verse.
