Prayer based on Matthew 21:31. Themes: Obedience, Repentance, Salvation

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the promise that those who do your will shall enter into your Kingdom. We claim this promise today and ask for your guidance and strength to always obey your commands. We repent of our past disobedience and ask for your forgiveness. We declare that we will be like the first son who did the will of his father. We believe that even the tax collectors and the prostitutes who have turned to you will enter into your Kingdom before those who have not. We trust in your mercy and grace and ask for your help to live a life that pleases you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him, “The first.” Jesus said to them,“Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.
Matthew 21:31

This is a Promise. The verse states that tax collectors and prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before the religious leaders who were questioning Jesus. This is a promise that those who may have been considered outcasts or sinners can still enter into God’s Kingdom.
