Dear Lord, as we begin this new day, we ask for your guidance and wisdom. Just as you called your disciples and chose twelve apostles, we pray that you would choose us to be your faithful servants. Help us to follow you with all our hearts and to be obedient to your will. May we be willing to go wherever you lead us and to do whatever you ask of us. We pray that you would equip us with the gifts and talents we need to serve you well. Thank you for choosing us and for calling us to be a part of your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
Luke 6:13
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to pay attention to the fact that Jesus chose twelve disciples to become apostles.
