Prayer based on John 8:53. Themes: Identity, Authority, Death

Dear Lord, I come before you humbly and ask for your guidance and wisdom. As I read the words of the Pharisees questioning your authority, I am reminded of my own doubts and fears. Help me to trust in your greatness and power, even when I cannot see the way forward. May I never question your authority or doubt your love for me. Instead, may I always seek to follow your will and live according to your word. Thank you for being greater than any earthly authority or power, and for loving me unconditionally. Amen.

Verse: Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
John 8:53

This is a Command. The verse is a challenge or rebuke to the person being addressed, asking them to prove their superiority to Abraham and the prophets.
