Prayer based on John 8:39. Themes: Faith, Works, Lineage
Dear Lord, we come before you acknowledging that our earthly lineage does not define our true identity as your children. Help us to understand that it is not enough to simply claim to be descendants of Abraham, but rather we must strive to do the works of Abraham. May we be inspired by his faith and obedience to you, and may we follow in his footsteps by living a life that is pleasing to you. Guide us in all that we do, and may our actions reflect our true identity as your children. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to do the works of Abraham if they claim to be his children.
