Dear Lord, I thank you for giving me your word. I know that the world may hate me because I am not of the world, but I claim the promise that you are with me just as you were not of the world. Help me to stand firm in my faith and to trust in your guidance and protection. May your word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

John 17:14

This is a Promise. The verse is a statement by Jesus that he has given his followers his word and that the world will hate them because they are not of the world, just as he is not of the world. There is no explicit command given in this verse.
