Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the promise that you love me because Jesus laid down his life for me and took it up again. I claim this promise today and ask that you help me to live a life that honors and glorifies you. May I always remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for me and may it inspire me to love and serve others as he did. Thank you for your love and grace, and for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Verse: Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
John 10:17

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that the Father loves Jesus because he will lay down his life and take it up again. There is no command given to the reader.
