Prayer based on Luke 10:20. Themes: Rejoice, Spirits, Submission

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the promise that our names are written in heaven. We are grateful for the assurance that we belong to you and that we have a place in your kingdom.

Help us to remember that our joy should not come from the power we have over spirits, but from the fact that we are your children. May we always find our identity and purpose in you.

We claim this promise today and ask that you would continue to guide us on our journey of faith. May we live each day with the confidence that we are loved and chosen by you.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Verse: Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Luke 10:20

This is a Promise. The verse is telling the reader to rejoice that their names are written in heaven, rather than rejoicing in the fact that they have power over spirits.
