Praying from Hebrews 5:5 relating to Humility, Sonship, High Priesthood.
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for not glorifying yourself to be made a high priest, but instead, you humbly accepted the calling that the Father had for you. I claim the promise that you spoke to the Father, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father.” May I also be reminded that I am a child of God and that I have been adopted into your family. Help me to live a life that honors you and brings glory to your name. Amen.
Verse: So also Christ didn’t glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him,“You are my Son. Today I have become your father.”
Hebrews 5:5
This is a Promise. The verse is stating that Christ did not glorify himself to become a high priest, but rather it was God who declared him as his son and appointed him as high priest.
