Praying from Acts 23:5. Themes: Respect for authority, Biblical authority.

Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. We ask that you help us to always remember the importance of respecting those in positions of authority, even when we may not agree with them. Just as Paul recognized the high priest as a ruler of his people, may we also show respect and honor to those who lead us. Help us to speak words of kindness and love, and to refrain from speaking evil of anyone, especially those in positions of power. We pray that you would give us the strength and courage to follow your example of love and respect, and to always seek to build up rather than tear down. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Verse: Paul said, “I didn’t know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, ‘ You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”
Acts 23:5

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader not to speak evil of a ruler of their people.
