Prayer based on Acts 1:20. Themes: Judgment, Replacement, Authority

Dear Lord, we come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. As we reflect on the words written in the book of Psalms, we ask that you help us to understand their meaning and apply them to our lives.

We pray that you would help us to let go of any attachments to our earthly possessions and desires, and instead focus on building a spiritual home in your kingdom. May we not cling to our own ways and desires, but instead surrender to your will and purpose for our lives.

We also pray that you would help us to be faithful stewards of the positions and responsibilities you have entrusted to us. May we use our talents and resources to serve you and others, and not seek personal gain or glory.

Finally, we ask that you would help us to trust in your sovereignty and plan for our lives, even when it may be difficult or unclear. May we have the courage to follow where you lead, and the faith to believe that you will provide for us every step of the way.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Verse: For it is written in the book of Psalms,‘ Let his habitation be made desolate. Let no one dwell in it;’ and,‘ Let another take his office.’
Acts 1:20

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to let the habitation of someone be made desolate and for no one to dwell in it, and for another to take his office.
