Praying from 1 John 5:19 relating to Salvation, Evil, Power
Dear God, we thank you for the assurance that we are of you. We claim the promise that we belong to you and that you have chosen us. We also acknowledge that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. But we trust in your power and your protection. We pray that you will keep us safe from the influence of the evil one and help us to live according to your will. We ask for your guidance and strength to resist temptation and to follow your ways. Thank you for your love and grace that sustains us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

This is a Promise. The verse is assuring the reader that they belong to God, but also acknowledging that the rest of the world is under the influence of the devil.
