Dear Lord, I claim the promise in your word that those who belong to you will continue with us. I pray that those who have left our community, whether physically or spiritually, will be revealed as not belonging to us. May your truth be made known and may those who are truly yours remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to you. Help us to trust in your sovereignty and to continue to love and serve those who are still with us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: They went out from us, but they didn’t belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.
1 John 2:19

This is a Promise. The verse is stating that those who left the group were not truly a part of it, and their departure revealed this truth.
