Dear God, I come to you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. I pray that you open the hearts of those who do not receive me, just as you opened my heart to receive your love and grace. Help me to always come in your name and not in my own, so that I may be received by those who seek you. May your Holy Spirit guide me and lead me in all that I do, so that I may bring glory to your name. Amen.
Verse: I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
John 5:43
This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to not receive those who come in their own name.
