Praying from Luke 15:22. Themes: Forgiveness, Redemption, Restoration.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I come before you today, I am reminded of the story of the prodigal son. Just as the father in the story welcomed his wayward son back with open arms, I know that you too welcome me with open arms whenever I turn to you.

I pray that you would bring out the best robe and put it on me, just as the father did for his son. Clothe me in your righteousness and help me to walk in your ways.

I pray that you would put a ring on my hand, a symbol of your love and faithfulness. Help me to remember that I am your child and that you will never leave me or forsake me.

And finally, I pray that you would put sandals on my feet, that I may walk in the path that you have set before me. Guide me and direct me, and help me to follow you with all my heart.

Thank you for your love and grace, and for always welcoming me back into your loving arms.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Verse: “But the father said to his servants, ‘ Bring out the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
Luke 15:22

This is a Command. The father is commanding his servants to bring out the best robe, put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet for the son who has returned home.
