Praying from Romans 7:13. Themes: Sin, Death, Commandment.

Dear Lord, I am struggling with the idea that what is good can lead to death. Please help me to understand that it is not the good itself that causes death, but rather sin that is producing death through the good. May I never forget that sin is the root cause of death and that it is only through your commandments that sin can be exposed for what it truly is – exceedingly sinful. Help me to always strive for what is good and to resist the temptation of sin. Amen.

Verse: Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful.
Romans 7:13

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to recognize the sinfulness of sin through the commandment.
