Dear God, help me to understand and follow your commandments that lead to life. May I not be deceived by the ways of the world that lead to death. Guide me in your truth and help me to live a life that honors you. Amen.

Romans 7:10

This is a Command. The verse is warning against the dangers of legalism and following the letter of the law without understanding its true purpose. It is a cautionary command to seek understanding and not just blindly follow rules.
