Dear God, please grant me the wisdom to make wise decisions for myself. Help me to understand that my actions and choices have consequences, and that I alone am responsible for them. Please guide me to be kind and compassionate towards others, and to avoid mocking or belittling them. May I always remember that my words and actions have the power to hurt or heal, and may I choose to use that power for good. Amen.
Verse: If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
Proverbs 9:12
This is a Command. The verse is telling the reader that if they are wise, it will benefit themselves, but if they mock, they will bear the consequences alone. Therefore, the command is to be wise and not mock others.
