Dear God, as I prepare to fast, I ask for your guidance and strength. Help me to focus on you and your will for my life. May I not seek attention or pity from others, but instead, may I anoint my head and wash my face, presenting myself as a joyful and faithful servant of yours. Thank you for the opportunity to draw closer to you through fasting. Amen.
