Praying from Matthew 5:4 relating to Comfort, Mourning, Blessing

Dear God, I come to you today with a heavy heart, mourning the loss of a loved one or the pain of a difficult situation. I thank you for the promise in your word that says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” I claim this promise today and ask for your comfort to surround me. Please wrap your loving arms around me and bring peace to my troubled heart. Help me to trust in your plan and know that you are with me every step of the way. Thank you for your unfailing love and for the comfort that only you can provide. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
