Prayer based on Matthew 25:45. Themes: Compassion, Service, Judgment

Dear Lord, please help me to always remember that when I neglect to help those who are in need, I am neglecting you. Please give me a heart of compassion and a willingness to serve others, especially those who are considered the least in society. Help me to see them as you see them and to love them as you love them. May my actions always reflect your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Verse: “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’
Matthew 25:45

This is a Command. The verse commands the reader to treat others with kindness and compassion, as failing to do so is equivalent to failing to do it to Jesus himself.
