Dear Lord, we come before you today with this verse from the book of Mark. We ask for your guidance and wisdom as we seek to understand its meaning and apply it to our lives. Help us to be obedient to your word and to follow the example of those who have gone before us. We pray that you would bless us with the gift of children and that we would be faithful in raising them up to know and love you. May we always be mindful of the importance of family and the role that we play in building strong and healthy relationships. We thank you for your love and grace, and we ask that you would continue to guide us on our journey of faith. Amen.
Verse: saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘ If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
Matthew 22:24
This is a Command. The verse is instructing the reader to follow the law of Moses regarding the marriage of a man’s widow to his brother in order to raise up offspring for the deceased brother.
