Dear Lord, as we gather in your presence, we pray that you help us to always be clothed in righteousness and humility. May we never be found wanting or lacking in our commitment to you. Help us to always be prepared for your coming and to be adorned with the garment of salvation. May we never be caught unawares or unprepared for your return. We ask for your grace and mercy to always be with us, so that we may be found worthy to enter into your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Verse: “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
Matthew 22:11
This is a Command. The verse is a warning to the reader to make sure they are properly dressed for the wedding feast, which is a metaphor for being prepared for the kingdom of heaven.
